About
In 2002, after 13 years of working as a K-12 art teacher, sculptor, and director of the fine arts program at a specialized school, I set out to establish an art academy. Voyam provided programs in drawing, painting, engraving, sculpture, ceramics, and stained glass for children, teens, and adults. Although the school flourished, life had other plans for me.
In 2006, my family and I made Ocala, FL, our home. In Ocala, I continued my work as a visual arts teacher for schools. I aided in developing programs and projects for the community while progressing and expanding my career as a fine arts sculptor.
Now, with the creation of Voyam Fine Arts, VFA, my objective is to share my love for metal sculptures, fine art, and education through catered workshops on metal welding techniques in a fun and welcoming environment.
In Voyam Fine Art, our passion for art and creation, combined with the love of metal, arises the need to transmit and communicate those emotions tangibly and functionally with an aesthetic purpose. The medium of sculpture manages to align and combine our passion for both and for the enjoyment of becoming a fine arts welder. Fine arts welding involves various techniques to create functional sculptures and art pieces. At VFA, we work in this specialized field using multiple welding methods, such as metal inert gas welding (MIG), tungsten inert gas welding (TIG), rod welding, and arc welding with flow core to manipulate the metal in durable works of art—the art of welding metal sculptures.
